Its principle is simple: imitate and play the role of the cerebrospinal fluid in which our brain “floats”. In an impact, the MIPS system will absorb the energy of the blow by sliding the skull along the cap. So, the rotational forces will be better dispersed and the brain will not slam into the skull, thereby be better protected against slantwise impacts.
